INTERNAL VACANCY 

This vacancy is open to employees of the University of Nottingham only. 

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Senior Technical Manager for the School of Veterinary Medicine and Science, based at the Sutton Bonington Campus. The person appointed will be responsible for the leadership and management of the School’s Technical Services team along with daily management and development of the school infrastructure, to enable the delivery of a professional service across the school for both teaching research. 

Candidates should possess a university degree or equivalent, plus substantial work experience in a relevant technical/scientific and/or management/supervisory role, or a proven track record with extensive work experience in a relevant technical, experimental, scientific or management/supervisory role.

This post will require proven skills in the effective management of people along with proven high levels of planning, organisational skills and resource management. Extensive technical management within a scientific environment and in-depth knowledge and experience of facility management are essential for the role as is a well-developed understanding of Health and Safety procedures regulations and procedures and the implications of non-compliance on others. Knowledge of the Technician Commitment and experience of delivering to its objectives are also a key requirement.

This post is available on a permanent basis. Hours of work are full time (36.25 hours). Job share arrangements may be considered.
