We are seeking a Data and IT Support Officer to join the Section of Patient Centred Outcomes Research at St James’ Institute of Oncology. The group studies the effects of routine electronic self-reported measurement of patient symptoms and side-effects of treatment on patient care. We work closely with the hospital NHS teams and the Clinical Trials Research Unit at the University of Leeds. Through a range of research programmes we lead the data collection and management of patient reported data in hospital centres across Yorkshire and in Bristol and Manchester.

You will support the management and interrogation of clinical and research datasets held in a variety of formats (SQL server, MS Access, Excel) and support the running of IT systems that connect online patient reports (of symptoms and side effects) with individual electronic medical records.

While the post is based at the St James’s Institute of Oncology in Leeds, some visits to other organisations may be required.

This post is available immediately for a fixed term period until 30th June 2017 (with the possibility of extension dependent on funding) and is available on a full time basis although consideration will be given to part-time applicants.
