PhD opportunities within the Division of Psychiatry and Applied Psychology, University of Nottingham (MED1402)

The Division of Psychiatry and Applied Psychology at the University of Nottingham invites applications from well-qualified candidates to  be considered for funding opportunities towards a PhD programme in the academic year 2017-18.

The Division, which is based within the School of Medicine, is located within the Institute of Mental Health, one of the leading mental health institutes in the UK formed by a partnership between Nottinghamshire Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust and the University of Nottingham. It has a large and expanding postgraduate research community and conducts world-class research in a wide range of multidisciplinary areas in the field of mental health. In the latest Research Excellent Framework (REF) the Division was part of the unit of assessment (Psychology, Psychiatry and Neuroscience) that was ranked in the top 10 in the UK for research power.

The Division is associated with the University of Nottingham Doctoral Training Partnership pathways in Mental Health & Wellbeing and Psychology which provide outstanding postgraduate training through ESRC funding. There are also additional funding opportunities, including University endorsed studentships that provide funding to eligible international students. We particularly encourage applications from students with or heading towards a first class undergraduate degree in Psychology, or related disciplines.
