Description :

The University has secured £6 million funding from the European Regional Development Fund to deliver a three year initiative to support innovation in small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) across the York, North Yorkshire, East Riding (YNYER) and the Humber region. The funding, in the form of Innovation Vouchers and Grants for R&D, will benefit SMEs across a range of industry sectors through research and innovation in products, processes and services and to develop new business opportunities. Funding will also be available to support low carbon projects.

We are now recruiting a new team to deliver this programme.  The team will include a Programme Manager, three Innovation Managers, two Finance and Audit Officers and an administrator.  The team will be based at the University of Hull in the Research and Enterprise department, although the roles will cover the YNYER and Humber Local Economic Partnership (LEP) areas so travel will be essential. The positions are fixed term for the duration of the programme and there are four posts currently available: the Programme Manager and three Innovation Manager roles.

The Programme Manager will work to ensure the efficient and effective delivery of the projects’ contracted outputs and targets and will work closely with a wide range of stakeholders.  The post holder will be responsible for managing the team, promoting the programme, managing the finances and administration of the three schemes within the programme and for ensuring compliance with funder requirements.

The Innovation Managers will work directly with SMEs across the two LEP areas.  This work will include: proactively engaging beneficiaries; leading a diagnostic process; supporting SMEs in action planning and project development to secure grant assistance; supporting SMEs to procure delivery agents; key account management as SME projects are implemented; and evaluating outcomes.

To discuss these roles informally, please contact: Pam Jackson on 01482 462167 or pam.jackson@hull.ac.uk
