Description :

The Robens Centre for Occupational Health and Safety, an enterprise unit of the University of Surrey, operates a successful travel medicine and vaccination clinic delivering to members of the general public (for leisure purposes), occupational health (both contracted and private customers) and business clients.

We are now looking for an experienced Travel Immunisation Nurse to join our team and to help grow the business further. The successful applicant will support the Robens in identifying new growth opportunities and work flexibly to meet both existing and new customers’ needs.

The successful candidate will have the drive and enthusiasm to identify and meet customer requirements, have a flexible approach to work and, will be a key member of this busy team.  You will have the autonomy to assess and administer vaccinations and advice independently.  You will be required to undertake full, evidence-based travel risk assessments and be competent to deliver travel vaccinations combined with detailed travel advice.

It is essential that the selected candidate has existing (or is prepared to acquire) knowledge of occupational vaccinations as the clinic also serves a number of occupational health clients’ e.g. dental staff.

We have recently extended our CQC registration to accommodate clients from age 12 months upwards so experience working with this age range would be an added advantage.

This post covers Wednesday 12.00 – 20.00 and Thursday 07.00 – 14.30 although may be subject to some flexibility as the service develops and a clearer pattern of customer demand emerges.

As the department is registered with the Care Quality Commission, the successful applicants will be subject to an Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service check.

For further advice or to arrange an informal visit please contact Sarah Futcher, Clinical Director on s.futcher@surrey.ac.uk
