Description :

The University of Surrey is a global university with a world-class research profile and an enterprising spirit. Inventive and forward-thinking, its heritage shows a recurring theme of going its own way, doing things differently – and achieving notable results.  Furthermore, the University of Surrey is Ranked 4th in the UK by the Guardian.

The School of Economics at Surrey (www.surrey.ac.uk/economics) has a reputation for Research and Teaching in Economics, built upon a commitment to high quality, rigorously founded applied and theoretical work, often of direct policy significance. The School enjoys a strong profile in research and teaching, exemplified by a successful 2014 REF and NSS scores. We have recently invested heavily to recruit staff whose innovative work is having a large impact on international research agendas.

As part of an exciting strategic initiative to consolidate the School’s position as a top Economics department in the UK, we are looking to make appointments at the Lecturer level. Candidates should hold a relevant PhD and should have already established a track record of publishing in top international journals. Candidates with successful bidding for external funding are particularly welcome. We encourage applications from candidates with research/teaching interests in all areas of Economics.

In return we can offer a competitive remuneration package, which includes relocation assistance where appropriate, the latest teaching facilities, and access to a variety of staff development opportunities.

Informal enquires should be directed in the first instance to Professor Joao Santos Silva, Head of School via email at jmcss@surrey.ac.uk containing "Surrey appointments 2016/17” in the subject line.
