The Southampton Clinical Trials Unit (SCTU) is based at University Hospital Southampton NHS Foundation Trust (Southampton General Hospital). We manage a portfolio of high quality multi-centre clinical trials that will directly influence routine clinical practice.

The rich research environment in Southampton includes the Cancer Research UK Clinical Centre, Experimental Cancer Medicine Centre, two NIHR Biomedical Research Units, a Welcome Trust Clinical Research Facility and strong NHS R&D Management.

We have a vacancy for a full time Pharmacovigilance (PV) and Quality Assistant, to support the Quality and Regulatory Team in maintaining and developing the SCTU’s quality and regulatory systems. 

As a PV&Q Assistant the role will include: liaison with research teams via email and telephone; tracking, reporting and filing of quality, contractual and safety documents; and entering data onto our safety databases. Successful applicants will be educated to a minimum of GCSEs (or equivalent) ideally with experience of a clinical trial or health environment. You will have worked with data in a previous role and have good IT skills (GSCE equivalent), be competent using Microsoft Office, particularly in design and use of spreadsheets and be familiar with computer databases. Excellent organisational and communication skills are essential, as are high standards of accuracy and attention to detail.
