The University of Nottingham has a Research Priority Area ‘Agriculture and Food Security’, into which funds have been provided to span ‘Crops to Consumption’. This one year post-doctoral role will be to bridge the work of Prof Tim Foster and Prof Ian and Dr Julie King, linking and developing insights from current state of the art in food processing and genetic variation in wheat and it’s wild relatives.
The role holder will work at the interface of these two areas identifying ways in which the different genotypes can be processed to provide ingredients for food processing.
The successful candidate will be a recently graduated PhD or close to finishing a PhD, with experience in food material handling, characterisation and food product processing.
This full-time post will be offered on a fixed-term contract for a period of 12 months.
