Category: Academic | Faculty/Division: Faculty of Health, Education and Life Sciences | School: School of Education and Social Work | Department: Secondary and Post Compulsory Education | Location: City South Campus | Post Type: Part Time | Closing Date: Open until filled | The School of Education and Social Work is one of the largest providers of teacher education in the country and has a long-standing reputation for producing outstanding teachers.  The Secondary and Post Compulsory/Adult Education department offers PGCE (mainstream and School Direct), Assessment Only routes to QTS, a pre-Service Subject Knowledge Enhancement programmes, Teach First and PCET. There will be opportunities as appropriate to contribute to some of these programmes. The successful candidates will have a strong track record in secondary or further education. In addition, experience of working with trainee teachers – in a Higher Education/SCITT setting and/or working as a mentor with trainee teachers in schools or further education would be an advantage, as would experience of developing and delivering professional development within school, Local Authority and/or Higher Education settings.  A first degree is required.  QTS is essential and a higher degree preferred.  Appointments are from June 2017 or as soon as possible after this date.
