Description :

Are you passionate about undertaking high quality, research-orientated teaching in midwifery and maternal care?  Do you have a PhD in a related discipline and current NMC midwifery registration?

The School of Healthcare’s vision is to translate excellence in research and scholarship within each of our academic portfolios into an exceptional student experience; and to make a major impact upon society.  We are looking for aspirational midwives who are excelling in their field to help realise this vision and to join our vibrant academic community at an exciting point of growth and investment in research and educational excellence; including the recent appointment of seven new Chairs.

You will provide a highly developed portfolio of undergraduate and taught postgraduate education; primarily aligned to pre-registration midwifery and subjects aligned to maternal care. You will also raise the School’s international profile, driving positive change in local, national and international health and social care communities.  You will be supported in developing synergy between education and a defined programme of research.

You will have a PhD/Professional Doctorate in a related discipline (or be near to completion) and current registration on the midwifery section of the NMC register.  You will have experience of teaching undergraduate and/or postgraduate students and achievement as a single or lead author of a refereed publication.
