You will be employed at the Department of Interdisciplinary Social Science of the Faculty of Social and Behavioral Sciences, Utrecht University. The position comprises a combination of teaching (70%)  and research activities (30%). You will be involved in the teaching of all interdisciplinary programmes that the Department of Interdisciplinary Social Science takes part in: the Bachelor’s degree programme in Interdisciplinary Social Science, the international one-year Master’s degree programmes and in the research Master programme Migration Ethnic Relations and Multiculturalism. Some courses will be co-taught with other teachers and materials for teaching are available.

The Department’s research activities are organized within two programmes: ‘Migration, Cultural Diversity, and Ethnic Relations’ and ‘Youth in changing cultural contexts’, a third one is in development. Our research receives high recognition, both nationally and internationally, and Migration, Cultural Diversity and Ethnic Relations is part of the European Research Centre on Migration and Ethnic Relations (ERCOMER) and participates in the interdisciplinary research institute ICS (Interuniversity Center for Social Science Theory and Methodology).

The position involves 70% teaching activities and 30% research time. The core tasks will include:

independently setting up and teaching Bachelor’s and (research) Master’s degree courses within the curriculum of Interdisciplinary Social Science; carrying out research within the scope of the research area of the department; maintaining an excellent track record of publications within the field.
