The role

We are seeking someone who wants to drive the optimum performance out of the University’s buildings and energy management control systems. You will seek opportunities to improve performance whilst environmental and comfort conditions are maintained, ensuring environmental impact and energy consumption are minimised while improving systems reliability and functionality.

You will be the technical service who can test, service, adjust, upgrade and fault find on the campus wide control systems and provide specialist technical advice to colleagues and other departments.

This post has specific responsibility for the operational management and development of central building controls and monitoring systems predominantly Schneider Building Management System, Helvar Dali lighting controls, DRAX Alarm monitoring system and Elcomponent Metering System.

The ideal candidate will have:

A deep understanding of the application and maintenance of building management systems An HNC in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent or ONC with extensive and broad experience) A building services operation, maintenance or installation background Good communication and engineering diagnostic skills Capable of managing and prioritising problems under pressure
