Lab Manager Plant Growth Facility and Plant Ecophysiology (0.8 FTE)

You will be embedded fully in the Plant Ecophysiology group, and will have two core tasks: managing the Utrecht University Plant Growth facility (phytotron), and organizing some of the lab procedures in the Plant Ecophysiology lab. We are looking for a technician with very strong communication and organisation skills and an open mind to flexible solutions. Ideally, you have proven affinity with both physiological-molecular lab work with plants and technical equipment. You will coordinate between scientists at the lab bench, supervisors and external parties. In addition to creating set-ups and maintaining equipment, you will manage certain workflows in the lab. We distinguish the following tasks:

daily maintenance and management of a large Plant Growth facility (growth chambers, growth cabinets, greenhouses); leading the user committee of the Plant Growth facility; interaction with internal and external technicians involved in the maintenance of the Plant Growth facility; maintenance and ordering of materials required for the Plant Growth facility; maintenance of equipment used in the Plant Ecophysiology research unit; ordering of equipment, chemicals and materials for the Plant Ecophysiology research unit; a diversity of management tasks for the Plant Ecophysiology research unit; assisting during experiments.
