We have an exciting opportunity for a part-time (0.5 FTE job share) appointment working in the Events Team, within the Marketing, Recruitment, Admissions and Communications Department. We are looking for an experienced events professional to join the team in the position of Events Coordinator.

Working days will be Wednesday/Thursday/Friday.

Reporting directly to an Events Officer and under the overall direction of the Events Manager, the post holder will be responsible for the delivery and organisation of key events within the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences. The Faculty is the largest in the University, each year welcoming over 5000 students onto their degree programmes. The Faculty comprises of 9 schools and brings together scholars and students from across an extraordinary range of academic disciplines; from subjects such as Musical Theatre, Dance, Business Management, Hospitality and Tourism Management and Law.

On a day-to-day basis, the post-holder will work closely with colleagues in the Faculty to understand their event needs and assist members of the Marketing, Recruitment, Admissions and Communications department to develop a programme of strategically aligned events for the year ahead.

In addition, the Event Co-ordinator will be expected to support major, high-profile University events, participating in the planning, implementation and evaluation as required by other members of the team.

With strong experience of running successful events from concept to completion, the ideal candidate will preferably have an understanding of marketing principles, customer focus, and their application to the Higher Education sector. In accordance with the University’s brand position, the post-holder will be tasked with ensuring that all of our events “create wonder”. Creativity and a keen eye for detail will therefore be important in ensuring success.

The ideal candidate will also understand the need to be flexible, with extensive weekend/evening work required and being prepared to go the extra mile to ensure that the desired results are achieved.
