We are seeking a Senior Project Manager to join us in delivering a very high power density electric propulsion system for zero emission aircraft. 

Housed in the purpose built Power Electronics, Machines Centre, we are a rapidly expanding team within the Faculty of Engineering undertaking high TRL research and development activities and offering use of the testing and development capabilities within the Power Electronics, Machines and Drives (PEMD) sector. The services we offer are unique and world leading, attracting industrial customers from across the globe spanning multiple industries.

What will you be doing?  

Electrification and Hydrogen Propulsion are critical technologies for achieving the worldwide commitments to tackle climate change and the University of Nottingham hosts one of the leading centres in the world for this technology.

You will lead a large scale technical project for a key strategic partner though the project lifecycle. You will ensure the project is delivered on time, on budget and to the highest of standards.

Leading a diverse project team including Applications Engineers, Researchers, Academics, Technical Staff, Quality Associates and other professional services you will be responsible for all aspects of project delivery. This will include requirements identification, preliminary design reporting, practical testing and manufacturing of prototype components.  

You will be our customers point of contact throughout, always delivering the highest standard of reporting.  

What qualities are we looking for?

A proven project manager with a history of delivering projects on time, cost and standard. A background in technically complex projects is essential. You will be a self-starter, able to work independently and without direct supervision. 

An excellent communicator, both verbally and written, as the face of our business and the University, you will have high professional standards. In return we can offer the opportunity to be involved in an extremely exciting project at the cutting edge of electrification technology.

This role is available on a fixed term basis for a period of 2 years with the possibility of extension subject to funding. Hours of work are full time (36.25 hours).  Job share arrangements may be considered.
