From 16 to 19 September 2019, the 17th Annual Conference of the GI E-Learning Section - DeLFI 2019 for short - will take place in Berlin at the Adlershof Campus of Humboldt University. The symposium is also the 27th annual conference of the Gesellschaft für Medien in der Wissenschaft (GMW). The joint conference will be held in 2019 under the motto "Participation in Education and Science". If educational scenarios are increasingly supported by technology, this not only enables new didactic possibilities but also the removal of hurdles and boundaries for access to and exchange in the educational system. On the other hand, these same technologies can also create new barriers, and solutions are needed to overcome them. Participation as an aspiration and practice of education and science thus takes on a new, expanded meaning. This includes the removal of barriers to access, the participatory development of content or the promotion of active participation through adaptive and personalisable media. The conference will focus simultaneously on education and science: here, media and technologies enable new forms of collaboration, integration, science communication and new connections between research, teaching and publication. Researchers and practitioners from all disciplines are invited to submit their contributions and results and to present them to the expert audience for discussion. Contributions can be written in German or English.
