HGK is the Croatian international congress on geological research, where geologists and researchers in Earth and related sciences as well as engineers gather to share their research results and developments in all geological fields related both to Croatia and the wider area. The past five Croatian geological congresses have been a very important source of geological information regarding the state of geological research in Croatia and the neighboring countries. The 6th HGK will be organized along with the celebration of 110 Years of the Croatian Geological Survey (HGI-CGS) founded by Dragutin Gorjanović-Kramberger in 1909. During its 110 years of existence HGI-CGS has been gathering, producing and preserving knowledge about the geology of Croatia and its adjacent countries through collaborations on all levels.
