Vienna Center for Quantum Science and Technology (VCQ) Summer School 2021 — Quantum Sensing & Imaging

The last decade has seen enormous progress in the technologies enabled by quantum mechanics. In recent years new interdisciplinary fields have emerged where quantum mechanics has seen applications in sensing and imaging. The use of novel quantum systems as sensors has expanded the range of their applications from gravimetry to bio-sensing. Simultaneously, efforts have been made to use the classical and quantum properties of light to overcome diffraction-limited resolution and retrieving sparse images from a complex medium by manipulating light. In this year’s VCQ summer school, four distinguished professors will introduce the participants to the basics of quantum sensors and imaging techniques and their applications in various fields. It will be a fascinating lecture series for early-stage researchers.
