The 10th EurOMA Summer School will be hosted by the University of Bergamo, Italy, starting Sunday 26th June and ending Thursday 30th June 2022 (with optional day trip on 1st July 2022), with a special focus on “O&SCM enabling the green and digital transitions”.
The upcoming years will see increasing investments towards the green and digital transitions (i.e. the “twin transitions”). The Next Generation EU program financed by the European Union, as well as, the new Horizon Europe Program, will foster all the financed organizations (i.e. companies, Universities, No-profit organizations, NGOs, Governments) to take the path towards the “twin transitions”. In this context, Operations and Supply Chain Management (O&SCM) research will have a major role to play.
The main objectives of the school are:
1. To develop a common knowledge base within the community of PhD students in operations and supply chains;
2. To help PhD students and junior researchers in defining relevant research topics and understanding the complex and relevant links with other research streams;
3. To foster the development of a network of young researchers in the field of O&SCM which could become a forum for exchanging ideas and building research collaboration;
4. To highlight the importance of the relationship between the mentor and the mentee in Academia.
The sessions will provide an overview of the knowledge and research on O&SCM and will draw on the expertise of speakers from around the world. Each one-day module hosting two lecturers will be devoted to a specific topic, always keeping into account the connection with the overall Summer School theme, and will feature lectures, case studies, teamwork and discussions. Several social events will be organised throughout the summer school.
The Summer School is targeted at PhD students and young researchers in Operations and Supply Chain Management from all over the world. In order to maintain the highest standard, the enrolment is limited to a maximum of 30 participants.
The application deadline is February 15th, 2022.
