21th International Symposium on Inventories ISIR 2022

The International Society for Inventory Research (ISIR) organizes its 21th International Symposium on Inventories, the only scholarly forum in the world focusing directly on inventories in August 2022. The 21th Symposium had to be cancelled in 2020 and 2021 due to the pandemic, but finally we truly believe that next year we can welcome all the interested participants in Budapest!


The professional objective of organizing this event is to provide a forum for an international exchange of ideas on various aspects of inventories.

The main streams of the symposium are organized around the six sections of ISIR: 

• Economics of Inventory and Production  
• Analytics and Forecasting for Inventory Control  
• Interfaces of Inventory with Transportation, Production, Finance and Marketing  
• Inventory coordination in supply chains (includes multi-echelon) 
• Spare Parts Management and Maintenance Optimization 
• Sustainable Inventory Management (includes perishables) 

Besides the regular paper presentations there will be special sessions on 

• Machine learning for inventory management  
• COVID-19 and its imapct on global economies
