The pursuit of symmetry: A conference in honour of the 80th birthday of Robert V. Moody

The primary goal of the conference is to celebrate R.V. Moody's lifetime desire to understand symmetry, a journey that has led him to produce breakthrough research in infinite dimensional Lie theory, Aperiodic Order and Pattern Theory. The biggest impact this conference will have will be as a result of bringing the areas of Algebra, Geometry and Aperiodic Order together, introducing each other to the open problems in the other's field, and exploring unexpected links to different areas of mathematics.
