The School is jointly hosted and organized by the Aix-Marseille University and the ITER Organization and alternates between Aix-en-Provence, France, and sites within the ITER Members. The subject of this year's school is "ITER plasma scenarios and control" with a scientific programme coordinated by P. de Vries (ITER Organization), D. Humphreys (General Atomics) and C. Holcomb (Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory). As the start of ITER operation approaches, it is timely to address this challenging multidisciplinary topic: the development of integrated operating scenarios and required plasma control to facilitate the ITER goals, particularly for plasmas self-heated by fusion-born alpha-particles.
