Studies of the fundamental process of translating mRNA into a protein sequence have greatly advanced our understanding of underlying molecular mechanisms and in consequence their regulation and disease association. Research on mRNA translation involves a wide spectrum of methods from single molecule measurements to the phenotypical characterization of organisms. This GRS will provide a platform where young scientists investigating different aspects of protein synthesis can meet for discussions about experimental approaches, exchange ideas and start collaborations, as well as obtain advice on possible career paths.
