Being able to recognize the dangers associated with many seemingly benign materials. All too often Owners, management personnel, supervisors and employees are unaware of the hazards of commonly stored, handled and used materials. It is important to recognize how that OSHA inspectors view the association of these products on the employees and on the environment.

Areas Covered in the Seminar:

Some of the areas that will be explored are as follows:

• First Responder.
  • Learning to recognize hazardous substances and emergencies. The training varies in accordance with the expertise of the person being trained and the requirements of his responsibilities for the company that employees him/her.
• First Responder with Action
  • The required training for a First Responder to be able to take any kind of action to contain the hazardous materials.
• Emergency Responder.
  • The training, equipment and ability of a person to be an Emergency Responder.
• Technician.
  • The necessary skills that will enable an employee to perform remediation work on a hazardous waste site.
• Supervisor.
  • The supervisor level requires the training of a technician and 8 hours of additional site specific training on the particular job site that he will be supervising.
• Equipment needed for each of the above levels of training.
  • The hazards faced will determine the PPE
• The necessity of Decontamination Stations and their requirement on Hazardous Waste Sites.
