Reforms and changes have been occurring in general practice/family medicine and primary care globally in the past decades. General Practitioners/Family Physicians are now being called upon to undertake teaching and research, as well managing their clinical care. Patients are becoming more informed about their health, and they are using this to question doctors in the community. In addition there has been an increase in expectations of society in general in the way their care should be delivered in the 21st century, especially with the increase use and reliant on new technology.
