Technician (Fixed Term) (SCI253425)

We are looking to recruit an enthusiastic, proactive person to join our team who can deliver timely and high-quality technical support within the School of Pharmacy. The fixed term post is offered Full time (36.25 hours per week).

About the role 

You will support and maintain the provision of key technical services within the Boots Science BuildingYou will work with academic staff and the technical team supporting the school to enable high quality research activitiesYou will monitor Health and Safety within the laboratory environment by assessing risks of planned activities and completing up-to-date standard operating procedures. You may provide support, guidance and assistance to our Biological category 2 and/or chemistry and Instrument laboratories. Including facilities, equipment, skills and techniques. Perform monthly monitoring of the Research labs and the equipment. Perform building and lab inductionsSupport and maintain an inventory of chemicals.Provide Instrument training such as spectroscopy or HPLC equipment Ensuring that resources are maintained and available when required.

About you:

You will have experience working in a technical role and will be educated to at least HNC or equivalent or have equivalent working experience in a relevant technical or scientific role. You have skills and experience in problem solving. You have excellent written and verbal communication skills to communicate a complex information with clarity.
