Reporting to and working closely with the Pro-Vice-Chancellor for Education and Student Experience (PVC ESE), each Deputy PVC will play a pivotal role in driving strategic improvement, embedding a culture of continuous enhancement and innovation, and ensuring a high-quality, equitable academic experience for all students.
About roles
Deputy PVC ESE (Undergraduate)
The Deputy PVC ESE (UG) will provide strategic leadership for the enhancement of our Foundational and Undergraduate portfolio. This includes responsibility for ensuring our programmes offer an equitable and high-quality academic experience, for developing access pathways and apprenticeship programmes, and for embedding a culture of innovation and continual improvement across the UG student journey.
The role requires close tri-campus collaboration and partnership with APVCs ESE, Directors of ESE Enhancement and Standards, and Vice-Provosts ESE at UNNC and UNM. You will be an influential member of the senior ESE leadership team, accountable for delivering improvements in UG Education and Student Experience performance, evidenced through KPIs such as NSS, NLES, GOS, APP and TEF.
Deputy PVC ESE (Postgraduate Taught)
The Deputy PVC ESE (PGT) will provide strategic leadership for the enhancement of our Postgraduate Taught and integrated Master’s portfolio. This includes leading innovation and quality improvement, overseeing the development of CPD and LLE provision, and ensuring that PGT students benefit from an equitable and consistently excellent academic experience across all campuses.
Success in this role requires working collaboratively with APVCs ESE, Directors of ESE Enhancement and Standards, and Vice-Provosts ESE at UNNC and UNM. As a senior member of the ESE leadership team, you will drive improvements in PGT performance, measured through PTES, GOS, recruitment data and TEF outcomes.
Deputy PVC Student Experience
The Deputy PVC Student Experience will lead the university-wide strategic activity to deliver a high-quality, equitable and inclusive student experience for all students, from transition and induction through to graduation. This includes ensuring that student support models are effective and accessible, and that all students have an authentic, engaging learner journey that promotes belonging and success.
The role will work in close partnership with the Academic Registrar, the Director of Student Experience in Student and Campus Life, APVCs ESE, the Directors of ESE Enhancement and Standards, and Vice-Provosts ESE at UNNC and UNM. You will drive improvements across key institutional KPIs, including NSS, NLES, PTES, APP, GOS and TEF.
