About the Role

This is a 6-months secondment opportunity.

This is an exciting opportunity for a Student Experience & Quality Co‑Ordinator to join the Faculty of Arts & Sciences, where you will play a key role in supporting and enhancing the student journey across our undergraduate and postgraduate programmes. You will be central to ensuring that our learning and teaching activity runs smoothly and that students receive an excellent experience from enrolment through to graduation.

In this varied and impactful role, you will work closely with the Departmental Administration Manager (DAM), academic colleagues, and key central services including Academic Registry, Careers, and the Student Experience Team. You will develop and maintain high‑quality administrative processes that support teaching, quality assurance, and continuous improvement across the faculty.

You will take the lead on coordinating teaching timetables and managing room bookings, working with the university’s Space Management Team, Programme Leaders, and academic staff to deliver accurate, timely timetables for students. You will also oversee key areas such as student engagement activities, departmental communications, the Blackboard VLE, and support for assessment boards and wider quality processes.

Acting as a central point of contact within the Faculty, you will ensure that student information is communicated clearly, consistently, and efficiently. You will also work closely with departmental administrators to support the smooth day‑to‑day running of the faculty.

This role offers an excellent opportunity to develop your career in academic administration within a supportive and collaborative environment. You will need strong organisational skills, flexibility, and the ability to manage competing priorities, working both independently and as part of a wider team. Some supervision of administrative staff may also be required.

As part of the University’s ongoing commitment to redeployment, please note that this vacancy may be withdrawn at any stage of the recruitment process if a suitable redeployee is identified.

For informal enquiries about this vacancy, you may wish to contact Lisa Burke, Departmental Administration Manager, at Burkli@edgehill.ac.uk.

About You

As Student Experience & Quality Co‑Ordinator, you will bring a high level of organisation, accuracy, and initiative to a busy and varied role. You will be confident managing complex administrative processes, including the coordination of teaching timetables and room bookings, and you will work closely with academic colleagues and central university teams to ensure these run smoothly and efficiently. You will also play an important role in supporting student representatives and the Student Staff Consultative Forums, maintaining tracking systems, preparing minutes and reports, and helping to identify themes and opportunities for enhancement.

You will have excellent communication skills, enabling you to produce clear and consistent information for students across Blackboard, electronic platforms, and written communications. You will enjoy building positive working relationships across the University, including with the Students’ Union, Academic Registry, Careers, and Work‑Related Learning, collaborating to improve the quality of student engagement, information sharing, and departmental processes.

You will be proactive and confident in supporting quality assurance activities, including accreditation processes, evidence gathering, and work relating to module and programme boards. You will also be comfortable organising and coordinating a wide range of student enhancement activities, such as field trips, events, conferences, and induction and first‑week experiences, ensuring these are delivered to a high standard and evaluated effectively.

A key part of the role will involve reviewing and improving administrative systems to ensure they are efficient, compliant, and aligned with University expectations and accreditation requirements. Your ability to identify issues, analyse trends, and support data monitoring will help maintain high levels of accuracy and contribute to continuous improvement across the Faculty.

Above all, you will be a collaborative, positive, and service‑focused individual who enjoys working with staff and students alike. You will be committed to delivering a high‑quality experience for all learners and will take pride in contributing to the effective organisation, communication, and reputation of the department and wider Faculty of Arts & Sciences.
