Hourly Paid Lecturers - all Secondary subject areas
Lincoln Bishop University is seeking to appoint well-qualified, reflective and versatile Hourly Paid Lecturers to contribute to its PGCE Secondary Education programme.
This role would suit experienced teachers, teacher educators, subject specialists and school-based colleagues who are committed to high-quality initial teacher education and the development of beginning teachers. Successful candidates may contribute to specialist subject teaching, supervise school placements, undertake school visits, support assessment activity, and provide constructive feedback to trainees as they develop their classroom practice.
This is an excellent opportunity to work with a growing PGCE Secondary team and to contribute to the continued development of high-quality secondary teacher education at Lincoln Bishop University.
About the roles
These are casual, hourly paid positions. The University is advertising to create a pool of suitable candidates across secondary subject areas. There is no guarantee of hours, and work will be offered according to programme need, subject demand and placement requirements.
We are particularly interested in candidates who can offer
• recent and relevant experience in secondary schools or colleges;
• secure subject and curriculum knowledge in a secondary subject area;
• experience of mentoring, coaching or supporting trainee teachers or Early Career Teachers;
• a professional, constructive and supportive approach to working with trainees, mentors and school partners;
• clear written communication, including accurate and developmental feedback on trainee progress.
Minimum requirements
As a minimum, an Hourly Paid Lecturer must have:
• the right to work in the UK with no relevant work restrictions;
• a relevant first degree;
• QTS or equivalent professional teaching qualification;
• relevant teaching experience;
• relevant and/or recent academic, professional or school-based experience.
The University may appoint professional or industry experts, and where appropriate academics from other institutions, to deliver specific aspects of teaching and training. A DBS check and verification of professional membership may also be required where necessary for the role.
