تفاصيل :

The newly-founded School of Geography and Lincoln Centre for Water and Planetary Health (LCWPH) is developing expertise in the monitoring and modelling of sediment-related contaminants and antibiotic-resistant microbes in large rivers worldwide. We wish to appoint a Postdoctoral Research Assistant with expertise in river system biogeochemistry, including sediment fluxes, storage and diagenesis. The successful applicant should also have an interest in the societal impacts of hydrological extremes and linking these to pollution, climate change and water-related diseases.

During this appointment the Research Assistant will develop their research by collaborating with the Head of School of Geography/Director of the LCWPH, Professor Mark Macklin, and also other internal/external partners. You will work with the PI to: (1) develop at least one proposal to gain external funding for a research project at Lincoln, and (2) produce high-profile publications. You may suggest your own ideas or topic of research, in collaboration with the PI, to co-develop an idea that could potentially lead to further funding.

You will have ideally recently finished or be finishing a PhD and have a desire to work in the new School of Geography/Lincoln Centre for Water and Planetary Health.

This post is fixed term for two years.

As an institutional Athena SWAN Bronze Award holder we are committed to advancing gender equality in STEM, therefore female applicants are strongly encouraged to apply.
