Events/Liaison Officer (HS0135)

The Faculty of Health Sciences is seeking to appoint a full time Events/Liaison Officer to deliver the Faculty’s successful widening access and participation; schools’ liaison programme; and contribute to the wider employability agenda. The postholder will work closely with Heads of Schools and Recruitment Team within the Faculty to plan, deliver and evaluate a variety of outreach and student recruitment activities. This will include academic taster talks, open days and arranging school visits to the University, in particular the new Allam Medical Building Clinical Skills Suite. The role will involve interacting with under-represented groups and schools that do not normally have a high level of university engagement and with prospective students, teachers, current students, academics and a range of Healthcare providers and employers.

Applicants are expected to have a degree (or equivalent qualification) or experience; a knowledge of the UK education system/sector and the student recruitment cycle and experience of outreach/liaison work in a similar context. Very strong organisational, project management, presentation and audience engagement skills are essential.

We are looking for a confident and enthusiastic individual with excellent interpersonal skills, including the ability to work with a wide range of people and who will be target driven to raise awareness of what the Faculty and University has to offer. Applicants are expected to work as part of a team with colleagues across professional, operational and cultural boundaries to ensure that the Faculty sustains high numbers of applicants from a range of diverse backgrounds.
