Developing OX40 and 4-1BB antibodies for Cancer Therapy (Funded by Bioinvent International)
Monoclonal antibodies (mAb) are now established as effective treatments for Cancer albeit with considerable potential for further improvement. The Cancer Sciences Unit in Southampton has a strong track record in basic and translational immunology including development of therapeutic mAb.
BioInvent is a science-focused European biotech dedicated to development of antibody-based cancer immunotherapeutics.
Building on the recent successful generation and characterization of antibodies to the cell targets OX40 and 4-1BB, BioInvent and the Antibody and Vaccine Group within the Cancer Sciences Unit are now seeking a postdoctoral fellow to explore the molecular mechanisms by which antibodies to OX40 and 4-1BB promote anti-cancer immune responses in a variety of in vitro and murine in vivo models as we seek to develop these for translation into the clinic.
You will be motivated, educated in a relevant subject area and have practical laboratory experience. Ideally you will have research experience in standard cell-biological or immunological techniques and hold a Bachelor’s Degree and PhD or equivalent professional qualifications and experience. Prior experience with in vivo models and a current Home Office (HO) licence are also required. The post is fixed term for 12 months in the first instance with the possibility of further funding.
