An exciting opportunity has arisen for an outstanding and ambitious individual in the field of higher education research. We are seeking a part-time research assistant who will provide support with projects investigating assessment and self-regulation in undergraduate students.
The role will largely involve recruiting participants and collecting data for both quantitative and qualitative research studies, then entering quantitative data into SPSS and transcribing qualitative data. The postholder will also be involved in coding observational audio/video data and conducting some basic quantitative data analyses.
You will have an honours degree or equivalent and experience of recruiting students to take part in research studies (i.e. obtaining informed consent, conducting data collection, debriefing participants, etc.). You will have experience conducting quantitative research and have previously carried out research interviews/focus groups, then transcribed this data. Experience of analysing audio and/or video data using content-based qualitative methods (e.g. content analysis, thematic analysis, grounded theory, etc.) would be an advantage.
