This post is temporary for 12 months.

The Student Services Directorate are seeking to appoint a Scheduling Officer to be part of the centralised timetabling team within Registry Services. The Directorate aims to provide high quality advice, guidance and support to all our students. Comprising of a variety of areas, the service places student achievement, success and retention at the core of its business and takes a proactive approach to student support. Registry Services is a central support department responsible for many administrative services that are provided to students and other areas of the University, including registration, student and course records, examination arrangements, results, visa compliance, timetabling and award ceremonies.

The scheduling team will drive significant improvement in the student experience and in the more efficient use of the University estate. The University recognises that the provision of an accurate, stable timetable is a key building block to support student success and achievement. With a constrained estate then there is a key role to be played by dedicated and skilled timetabling staff.

The Scheduling Officer will manage and maintain the scheduling processes and will be responsible for the production of the teaching and examinations schedule in a specific faculty. The team will need to work together to ensure all scheduling processes are consistent across the university. The work is complex in nature, working with specialist software and systems and requires particular skills in data handling and problem solving.

The role involves the collection of data and scheduling requirements from varied sources, the interpretation and checking of data, and producing reports and statistical information. It is a key part of the role that the post holder works closely, builds and maintains links with faculty colleagues and central University departments.

The post holder will be responsible for the recruitment, management and co-ordination of invigilators to ensure the efficient and effective delivery of the University examinations.

To discuss the role informally please contact Nikki Davies, Email: Nicola.Davies@hull.ac.uk or Telephone: 01482 465980.
