This is why we are looking for people like you to join one of the largest health faculties in the UK and share your enthusiasm and expertise in supporting Higher Apprentices on our Foundation Degree Science Nursing Associate.   An exciting opportunity exists for a committed and passionate Assistant Lecturer to join the Prequalifying Healthcare Practice Department in the School of Nursing & Midwifery. You will need to demonstrate a high level of understanding of the Nursing Associate role and Higher Apprenticeship.We are looking for candidates who are dynamic, adaptable and innovative and who thrive in a fast paced environment. You will be expected to support apprentices and supervisors and practice assessors  across a wide variety of placement areas. You must have a ‘can do’ approach and must be driven to support apprentices in the clinical and educational environment using a constructive, enabling and positive approach.  The ability to develop and maintain successful external and internal networks with key trust partners is essential. A key area of your role will be the management of the clinical placements and you will act as the main link between clinical placement areas and the educational setting. This role will also involve supporting the teaching across core modules  and you will also be required to be a personal tutor to a group of apprentices. Previous experience of supporting learners in the clinical setting is essential. You must hold at least a first degree in a health related subject and demonstrate on-going personal and professional development and appropriate study around relevant subject matter. Enthusiasm for teaching and development of learners is a fundamental aspect of the role in practice and in university. Applicants must also hold current registration with the NMC as a Registered Nurse (Part 1). Successful applicants would be offered a place on the University’s highly regarded Postgraduate Certificate in Teaching in Higher Education Programme.
