This is a customer focused role based in the library at the Falmer campus. Part of your time will be spent at the busy Help Desk assisting customers to access library services using the library management system and online resources; answering first level resource, IT and fines queries; dealing with returned books; and handling cash income. Other regular duties will include routine tasks such as circulation of stock, shelving and moving materials to maintain a safe and conducive study environment.

This is a dynamic environment and to succeed you will need to be reliable, flexible, professional, and enjoy learning.  You should be able to work quickly and accurately with excellent communication skills.  You should have a helpful confident manner, and a good working knowledge of IT.  An interest in improving the student experience is essential.

The post is full-time, fixed-term until the end of July 2019.  Hours worked are 37 hours per week, excluding meal breaks (these are unpaid). The hours include some evening work until 8pm and some weekend working for which appropriate enhancements and time off in lieu is given.
