Lecturer (Assistant Professor) (SS6720)

Outstanding applicants are sought for the post of Lecturer (Assistant Professor) in the Department of Education, University of Bath, UK. This is an open-ended, full-time post and applications will be particularly welcome from those who specialise in educational leadership, management and/or governance: expertise in comparative and/or international educational leadership would be especially desirable. However, we will also consider applicants with interests in the following fields: internationalisation and globalisation of education; pedagogy and curricula; international schooling; educational inequalities, diversity and social justice in schools; and, critical higher education studies.      

The Department of Education is thriving and expanding and it has an international reputation for teaching and research that develops theory, policy and practice (www.bath.ac.uk/education). The department offers one undergraduate programme (Education with Psychology) as well as a range of postgraduate taught programmes (full-time MA TESOL, full-time MA International Education and Globalisation, full-time Master of Research and part-time MA Education), and postgraduate research programmes (the MPhil, PhD and Doctor of Education (EdD)). Students and graduates of these programmes constitute a lively world-wide network of educational professionals working across all levels of the education sector and within other governmental and non-governmental organisations.  

We are looking for a Lecturer (Assistant Professor) to contribute to teaching in their specialist area across these programmes and to develop and grow their own research area within the department.   We are looking for candidates who are passionate about research, learning and teaching and who appreciate the value of face to face, distance learning and blended learning and who can contribute effectively to teaching in these contexts and to the future pedagogical developments in the department.
