We are seeking to appoint a Senior Lecturer to contribute to the growth of our teaching and research in Criminology, Policing and Modern Slavery.

This is an exciting time to join our warm, supportive Criminology team as we add new programmes in Policing and Modern Slavery to our successful undergraduate and postgraduate Criminology provision. Based in the Department of Criminology and Sociology, our Criminology team has expertise across the discipline in areas that include violence, history of crime, supervision of offenders, surveillance, sex work and organised crime. We work with research partners across the University and we have excellent links with local, national and international criminal justice organisations and practitioners. These links present many exciting opportunities for applied research and innovation.

We are particularly keen to appoint new colleagues who can contribute to teaching Policing and capitalise on our research and impact links in this area, but we encourage applications from motivated researchers in any area of Criminology.

A successful candidate will be both a motivated teacher and an excellent researcher, evidenced by experience of teaching development and the publication of high-quality research outputs. The successful applicant should have a PhD in a relevant discipline or possess substantial equivalent experience in policing.

To discuss this role informally, please contact Dr Iain Brennan T 01482 465717; E i.brennan@hull.ac.uk or Dr Ruth Butler, T 01482 465788, E r.e.butler@hull.ac.uk
