Visiting Tutor - Geography (GEO1819)

Category: Academic | Hub: School of Humanities | Department: School of Humanities | Closing Date: 12 Aug 2019 |   The University is seeking to appoint Visiting Tutors for Geography in support of its undergraduate programme, which commenced in 2017-18. Post holders will be required to teach and assess undergraduate students undertaking core GIS modules at levels 5 and 6, along with other modules if required. These tasks are covered in the job description and supporting information. We are looking for people who are able to share their experience with our undergraduate students, and enable them to begin to think critically about the wider field. We will provide excellent support and guidance to enable you to do that. Geography at Bishop Grosseteste University is a new and developing subject at undergraduate level, but joins BGU’s existing PGCE Secondary Geography provision. The University has well-developed partnership and relationships with schools teaching Geography, and through the regional branch of the Geographical Association. You will be an inspiring and enthusiastic colleague with specialist knowledge of GIS along with a varied and relevant set of relevant experiences. Appointments will be made at our current Visiting Tutor rates: Teaching: £43.01 per hour Marking/non contact activity: £21.50 per hour
