Development Manager / Senior Development Manager (Major Gifts) (JB6944)

The Department of Development and Alumni Relations is seeking to appoint a highly ambitious and experienced Senior Development Manager or Development Manager in the Major Gifts team. This role is offered on a full time, fixed term maternity cover with an expected end date of September 2020.

The Department of Development & Alumni Relations plays a leading role in the University’s excellence through philanthropic support and partnerships.

As a key part of the Major Gifts team, you will manage a portfolio of around 80 major gifts prospects, and will be responsible for the identification, cultivation, solicitation and stewardship of potential donors capable of supporting the university with five, six and seven figure gifts.

You will act as the departmental link with the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences and will work collaboratively with those colleagues as well as other faculties and offices to maximise gift potential from prospects who may have multiple associations and interests.

One of two positions is available and is dependent on your experience.

As a Senior Development Manager, you will have significant demonstrable success in major gifts, and bring with you a detailed knowledge and understanding of how to identify, cultivate, solicit and steward major gifts, to manage the philanthropic fundraising activity for a portfolio of projects with total targets ranging from a few hundred thousand to several million pounds.

As a Development Manager role, you will be experienced in relationship management, either from a fundraising or marketing background and looking to transfer your skills to a major donor fundraising role.

The post will be based at the University of Bath campus at Claverton Down overlooking the UNESCO World Heritage City of Bath.
