Research Project and Finance Coordinator (Fixed Term) (CF7050)

We are seeking an experienced Research Project and Finance Coordinator to join our dynamic, world-renowned research team. The Research and Project Finance Coordinator will specifically provide support for the ADAPT project - funded by Innovate UK – Advanced Propulsion Centre (APC). ADAPT aims to reduce vehicle carbon emissions through development of a compact, efficient, lightweight and intelligent powertrain.

Working closely with the research team, the postholder is responsible for ensuring the project is delivered and outcomes achieved, and that financial records are maintained within strict regulatory frameworks. The successful candidate will be a key member of the research team, formally reporting to the project Principal Investigator and Director of Administration, Faculty of Engineering & Design. The role carries responsibility for day to day control of the project, working with named contacts and partner organisations to ensure the project is delivered and outcomes achieved, ensuring that records are kept to relevant standards. The post holder will be expected to work with minimal supervision, providing financial and project coordination support across the project and its partner organisations. As opportunities arise and time permits, the post holder will take on coordination activities for further projects within the Department of Mechanical Engineering.

The successful candidate will have relevant project or financial management experience, an understanding of the automotive industry, outstanding analytical and critical thinking skills along with the ability to utilise complex data sets to produce meaningful reports. You will be an exceptional team player whilst working with autonomy and independence.
