This role is part of the University of Nottingham’s Rights Lab Beacon of Excellence, which is delivering research to help end contemporary slavery. The role-holder will work across multiple Rights Lab teams, collaborating with Nottingham staff members on research, impact and grant submissions. In order to maximize the possibilities for collaborative and team-based work, they should bring at least five of the following areas of expertise: 

The theory and practice of global policy processes in the domain of modern slavery; Strategic theory, including in the fields of technology policy, international institutions and modern slavery; Counter-terrorism and countering organized crime; Cyber-governance, artificial intelligence, and frontier technologies; Human rights and the law of war, especially contemporary implementation and enforcement; The financial sector and modern slavery; Slavery as a multidimensional sustainable development challenge. 

The role-holder should already have publications for REF2021. Candidates should have a track record of securing research income.

The role will is available on a part-time (10.88h per week), fixed-term basis from 01 July 2020 until 31 July 2022.
