Research Associate (LSE19-02)

Available only to existing employees of Staffordshire University and agency workers currently assigned to this University through an employment agency.

This 12-month maternity cover position (0.6FTE) offers an excellent and challenging opportunity to join a multidisciplinary team within the Centre for Health and Development (CHAD). The primary focus of CHAD is applied research that can contribute to improving health and wellbeing, and reduce health and social inequalities.

The successful applicant will be responsible for data collection, analysis and other activities across a range of health-related research and evaluation projects undertaken by the Centre. This will require the ability to work independently, effectively time manage, familiarity with a range of research methods, and an ability to communicate and work effectively as part of a project team.

The successful candidate should ideally possess a higher degree in a relevant discipline, experience of qualitative and quantitative research methods, have excellent communication and interpersonal skills. The post will also require flexibility in working, self-motivation and the ability to work independently as part of a team. We will also look favourably on those with research experience/expertise in an area related to CHAD’s research themes, and who have some experience of bidding for external research funding.
