Cyber Operations Manager (010720)

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the University IT Services as a Cyber Operations Manager. Reporting into the Chief Information Security Officer this important role covers all elements of IT Security operations within the University of Surrey, acting as a bridge head between the IT Operations Teams and the Cyber Security Team as well as taking requests from users of all levels.

The focus of the role is to oversee the work schedule to identify and safeguard the university from intrusion, identifying security threats, security weaknesses and preventing exploits to maintain the confidentiality and integrity and supporting the availability of systems. The desired outcome is to keep the University secure.

The post holder will be responsible for creating, developing and implementing regular IT Security tests and reports to monitor the health and status of IT Security, for publication to the IT Leadership Team.  They will also manage and prioritise project requests to the team on behalf of the CISO. 

You will be a skilled cyber security analyst with the ability to communicate to a wide audience, including senior managers.
