تفاصيل :

The N/LAB was established in 2016. It is one of the UK’s leading university based business analytics facilities comprising of a data analysis and visualization lab and associated office space. Lab Research is cross-disciplinary but dependent on data access from third parties (e.g. transactional data, cell phone data, and earth observation data among other sources). The lab has unprecedented access to granular large scale data sets from the private sector, and a growing reputation in computational business and social analytics. This access is unrivalled in the UK and in combination with our singular cross-disciplinary depth and reach (in terms of business school/business analytics teams).

The N/LAB team has rapidly grown, currently comprising of 6 faculty, 5 contract researchers, 6 doctoral researchers, a large community of associates and 27 MSc students on a premium fee programme which is currently at capacity. Working across three continents on projects ranging from understanding and predicting human behaviour for retailers within the UK to identifying risk of vulnerability at childbirth in Africa, N/LAB currently holds 25 distinct data sets with 12 under individual agreements/NDAs.

The lab is used by students for significant proportions of each day (as well as outside standard teaching hours).

The role holder will be responsible for ensuring the functioning of the lab infrastructure, data management, GDPR compliance and general organisation of activities as well as the associated business/third party liaison. While a strong background knowledge/experience of work with computer networks, data storage and access and/or online systems will be expected, a key responsibility will be to provide a point of liaison to coordinate maintenance, support and development of the N/LAB. The role holder will contribute to the broader strategic and operational management for the centre. The role holder will also provide leadership in developing external promotional activity.

Candidates should be professionally qualified or have at least a relevant first degree or significant hands-on experience in similar or related roles.

This role is offered on a permanent, full-time contract (36.25 hours per week).

Informal enquiries may be addressed to Andrew Smith, N/LAB Director, email andrew.p.smith@nottingham.ac.uk. Please note that applications sent directly to this email address will not be considered.
