تفاصيل :

Applications are invited for the above post based in Hearing Sciences at the University of Nottingham. This is a thriving centre of research into how people use their hearing, how hearing impairment affects them, and how new technologies might help.

The purpose of this role will be to lead computational and experimental research on machine-learning of ITDs and ILDs in spatial hearing, including developing and conducting machine-learning computational analyses, using their outputs to develop novel perceptual experiments of locating sound, searching and distilling literature, carrying out data analyses and reporting results. You will be expected to plan and conduct the research using appropriate procedures, and will be responsible for writing up the research for publication. You will have the opportunity to use your initiative and creativity to identify areas for research, develop research methods and extend your research portfolio. The post is funded by a MRC grant to Professor Michael Akeroyd.

Candidates must have a PhD in auditory research, skills in machine-learning analysis of spatial-hearing cues (ITDs and ILDs), audio signal-processing experience in Matlab or Python, excellent data analysis skills, and a positive attitude to collaboration. Additional essential and desirable criteria are listed in the Role Profile.

This post is full-time and will be offered full time on a fixed-term contract to March 31st 2022. Job share arrangements may be considered.

Informal enquiries may be addressed to Professor Michael Akeroyd, email michael.akeroyd@nottingham.ac.uk. Please note that applications sent directly to this email address will not be accepted.
