This post will be part of the consortium for the project WingPulse supported by Cleansky and Airbus. The project offers a pioneering research in experimental aerodynamics, active flow control, machine learning and their application to drag reduction with very low actuation energy on the next generation of aircraft.

The researcher will focus on the development of methods to optimise pulsed-jet flow control actuations, perform wind tunnel tests using qualitative and quantitative measurement techniques and engage with an ambitious and active research group.

Candidates must have an understanding, and preferably direct experience, of one or more of the following areas:

·        fluid mechanics

·        experimental aerodynamics

·        active flow control

Candidates must hold a PhD (or about to obtain) or equivalent in the area of experimental aerodynamics or fluid mechanics. They should have significant knowledge in experimental aerodynamics, wind tunnel testing, active flow control, and writing papers in top journals. They should be confident, have excellent R&D and communication skills and the ability to work in a team.
