Senior Research Fellow (1269520DA)

Applications are invited for a Senior Research Fellow position at the University of Southampton. This project will investigate wave augmented propulsion for short sea shipping using a biomimetic dynamic wing mounted at the bow of the ship. Working with a consortium of academic and industrial partners, you will undertake fundamental research making use of the new 138m Boldrewood towing tank to conduct experiments to assess the performance e.g., wave energy capture, motion effects, power and emission reductions, of the system. 

To be successful you will have a PhD or equivalent professional qualifications and experience in maritime engineering, or a related discipline. 

The post is full time fixed term until 31/05/2023.
