Are you an ambitious researcher looking for your next challenge? Do you have a background in data analytics? Do you want to further your career in one of the UK’s leading research-intensive Universities?

Formed in 2014, the Consumer Data Research Centre (CDRC) at Leeds is delivering insights in to human behaviour using consumer and commercial datasets. The CDRC continues to grow and as such is seeking a research scientist who can help us deliver impact from our data assets and affiliated projects. We are looking for someone who is data literate, driven and creative. The role will entail the analysis of our unique data assets and the creation of innovative and impactful outputs to further enhance the profile of the centre. You should have a good understanding of project delivery, from inception through to dissemination.

The CDRC is located within the Leeds Institute for Data Analytics (LIDA) at the University of Leeds. We are looking for an ambitious and driven researcher with the capability, inventiveness and initiative to work alongside our established team of internationally recognised academics to drive this activity to higher levels.

LIDA currently hosts 36 major programmes with research funding in the order of £50 million (www.lida.ac.uk). Successful applicants will also have the opportunity to develop international collaborations and relationships by working with scientists overseas at our partner Universities.  This position will therefore provide outstanding new networks for postdoctoral researchers to develop an exceptional programme of research innovation in line with the main aims of the project.

You should have a PhD (or be very close to obtaining a PhD) in Geography, Computer Science, Mathematics/Statistics – or a related discipline with a significant component of data analysis, data science and modelling. You will be able to demonstrate enthusiasm for and expertise in data analysis, with the ability to think creatively about techniques used for analysis and methods for visualisation and dissemination of results. Experience with consumer data would be useful but is not essential if you can demonstrate a strong track record of data analysis in a different domain and willingness to apply your skills to consumer data.
