تفاصيل :

The University of Hull has invested substantially in infrastructure and new research posts, particularly in the area of Biomedicine. The Positron Emission Tomography Research Centre(PETRC) is established as a leading international centre that provides state of the art facilities to undertake research in translational biomedical science. In particular, the development of positron emission tomography imaging probes and new clinical applications. PETRC links through a translational pathway to support the Molecular Imaging Research Centre (MIRC) at Castle Hill Hospital.  MIRC is a ca. £8.5 million investment between Hull University Teaching Hospital NHS Trust, the Daisy Appeal and the University of Hull, that is planned for completion in 2020. The University PETRC is equipped with a 7.5 MeV cyclotron to allow synthesis of radiolabelled compounds for PET and SPECT imaging. This facility is dedicated to the translation of novel imaging biomarkers for cancer and cardiovascular disease.

The post holder will play a key role in the new MIRC facility, equipped with a new generation of compact cyclotron, to allow GMP synthesis of radiolabelled compounds for first-in-human PET studies and support of clinical trials with medical imaging. This is an exciting opportunity to join an interdisciplinary medical imaging research team, within a facility equipped with the latest technologies and to work alongside NHS staff, both contributing to and leading multi-disciplinary translational projects. You will be part of a team of radiochemists, pharmacists and biomedical scientists working closely with clinical colleagues at the MIRC at Castle Hill Hospital. The post holder will support the translation of imaging tracers from the PET Research centre to first-in-human studies and develop an independent funded programme of research in translational radiopharmaceutics. In the first instance, the post-holder will be part of the team bringing the MIRC facility through to MHRA approval in 2021. The post requires experience in radiotracer design and radiochemical synthesis along with understanding of GMP production.

This position is being jointly advertised with post number HS0287 (Band 7).  Please note that 1 appointment will be made, this may be at either level.  Please complete the on-line application for both vacancies if you wish to be considered for both roles.  http://jobs.hull.ac.uk/HS0287
